Colombo Initiative is an independent, non-partisan organization based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with offices in Washington D.C. Its mission is to make impactful contributions towards policymaking through high-quality, data-driven research and programs translated into innovative strategies to provide useful recommendations for decision-makers.

Sri Lanka is at the crossroads in establishing itself as an emerging economy and a hub within the Indian Ocean. Driven by a new era of knowledge-based, competitive and rapid economic development, the country hopes to bring about significant improvements in many social indicators. We believe it is more important than ever before for policymaking to take place in an informed and responsible manner. Bringing together expertise from around the country, the region and the world presents the opportunity to make a significant contribution to public policy efforts in establishing Sri Lanka as a strategic player on the global stage.
